What is pat testing?
Formerly known as In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment – PAT Testing is the process by which electrical appliances are routinely checked to determine whether the equipment is in a safe condition and fit for continued use or if maintenance or a replacement is necessary.
Is it a legal requirement to have my portable appliances tested?

No, while it is not a mandatory legal obligation for businesses to perform tests on their portable appliances, there is a responsibility to ensure that your electrical devices are functioning safely and meet health and safety standards. Additionally, some insurance companies may require your appliances to undergo portable appliance testing (PAT).

How much does portable appliance testing cost?

Our pricing structure is straightforward with a fair pay-per-test policy. You will only incur an initial call-out fee of £35.00, and thereafter, a fee of £1.00 for each test conducted. Keep in mind that a minimal travel fee may apply based on your location. Contact us for further information.

How does the drop of service work?

Fantastic question! Our drop-off service operates just as described. Bring your portable appliances to our testing facility located in Deal, Kent, and we'll perform the necessary assessments on each of them. Once completed, we'll reach out to inform you when they are available for pickup. Additionally, we will send you an email along with a certificate indicating whether your appliances have passed or failed the inspection.

Do you provide an out of hours service? 

Certainly! We are dedicated to working tirelessly to meet your business requirements. We can operate overnight or during your off hours to avoid any interruptions to your operations.

Do I need to turn my devices off to be tested?

Yes all items will need to be turned off for testing unless agreed otherwise and a visual inspection can take place. A PAT test requires the item to be plugged into our machine to determine insulation resistance and earth bonding.

Do I need to turn my devices off to be tested?I’ve got 110v items and 32a can these be PAT tested?

This is not a problem all of our engineers carry testing adapters for all plug types ranging from 110v site tools to 3 phase electrical inputs, all of our test certificates will indicate if it is a different plug type for testing.
